In my opinion, the claim of a 1080p resolution that isn't really 1080p is just obviously false advertising. The aspect ratio is 4:3 instead of 16:9, making it almost square, not a true HD rectangle as they claim. Build quality, picture quality (except for almost square), and microphone quality are all pretty good. The autofocus on this one actually works and works well, which is a pleasant surprise, but if that's important to you, there's no software included and the instruction manual is for a different manual-focus model. At $30, the camera is reasonable and basically professional (if we ignore that it's not actually 1080p), but the $50 that's currently available in advance is definitely not good.
