Moccasins aren't your typical hard-soled, flat-heeled shoes with built-in arch support, but they're much more than slippers. Worn by Native Americans and settlers for thousands of years, moccasins provide effective foot protection by allowing your feet to feel the ground beneath their feet. I wear them indoors and outdoors but usually not outside the house to avoid wearing out the soles on the sidewalk and similar hard rough surfaces under my feet. These Minnetonka moccasins have a semi-rigid sole for us soft feet, but otherwise stay true to their heritage. . A gorgeous, stretchy yet durable upper of beautifully stitched elk leather over a lightweight, durable rubber outsole combines the best of old and new. This model only comes in medium sizes which isn't the best for us wide foot buyers but the soft leather conforms to your foot which I can attest to with my 4th pair in over a decade. Unfortunately not made in the USA, but more like the Dominican Republic, with traditionally fine minneton craftsmanship that's good enough for me!
