Yes, when I got home from the grocery store I found that my dog was bored with chew toys and decided that my Samsung OEM remote would be a viable alternative. Ba! We're tired of using the back buttons on the TV itself and got this as a last resort. It works well. Our old remote was one of Samsung's most difficult remotes for SmartTV functions. This one basically emulates all the features we found in it. We can use SmartTV functions, switch between input sources (TV, Cable TV, HDMI, etc.) and stream and select videos from our cable provider. Nothing is missing from what we see. The only thing I noticed is that the range on the remote seems a bit shorter than the Samsung remote. Maybe the infrared isn't as strong or the power level isn't as high, but I feel like I need to be about a foot or so closer than the OEM's maximum remote control range. At the same time since we paid almost nothing. For that, and for the Samsung OEM remote that costs around $60, I'm happy with that choice.
