Both my granddaughter and I enjoy it.
My granddaughter loves her giraffe in her backpack. I see her one day a week and this gives her the freedom to run around, walk fast or run (she is almost 2 years old). She also likes to hold her "tail", so sometimes we both hold it. I put my keys in my backpack. I have good control even if I give her a lot of freedom.
