The quality is top notch and in my case it matches the weave and finish of my travel tripod perfectly. I bought it not to elevate my tripod but to create a monopod. My tripod has a detachable leg and together with the center column it becomes a monopod after the two parts are put together. To remove the center column from the tripod you need to remove the spring hook from its base, a part I fear losing on set. So I bought this and a lightweight ball head, I only needed one leg from my tripod to build the monopod and I made the transition from one to the other quicker and without the risk of losing a key component. bought an aluminum monopod, but I was never known for my intelligence. creative, yes, but not clever.
