While this particular monitor stand may be overkill for my small 12" LCD monitor, I need something very strong, not moving, wobbling, wobble or do something like that. This is a battleship quality riser and holds my monitor very well. As a radio amateur I use the display to monitor the status of digital repeaters via a web browser on a Raspberry Pi. The monitor and stand are on a table next to my main seat chair, which places the monitor almost at eye level, which is very convenient as I don't have to tilt or raise my head to see. This is a well made device, the only reason I got 4 stars was simply because the spring adjustment is designed for a heavier monitor. The very light 12" LED monitor I use rides "up" (at the top of the riser) because the spring load setting cannot be adjusted to hold the monitor in a lower position. Small problem and I'm still happy with the riser.
