Review on HEEPDD European Scissors Stainless Classical by Amanda Castillo

Quirky is more important than functionality - at least my pair.

Media could not be loaded. It's nice, but the obvious design flaw is the extremely sharp scrollbars, which have cut my fingers a few times. If they had folded the scroll inwards rather than outwards it would probably be fine, but in its current form it will not only stick to all your fabrics and threads, it will also rip your skin if you're not extra careful. So if I keep them to myself, I'll either cover the sharp points in glue, file them down, or use a soldering iron to reshape that piece of metal if I can figure out if it's safe to solder that type of metal. Another problem I had was the blades rubbing against each other as you can clearly see in the photos leaving marks on the metal. Since I was going to use them as embroidery scissors I only have to open the scissors a bit so it's not too bad but it does limit what I can do with these scissors as I was hoping to use them for appliqué as well. They are beautiful and I love the overall design but the manufacturer has to fix the handles where the sharp parts are because it will damage your expensive supplies and your body. I have big hands for a girl and that was the main reason I chose them because I saw the grips have big hand holes and they really are. Since it has a screw holding the blades together I might try adjusting it so the blades are smoother instead of rubbing and digging into each other, but so far the technique doesn't seem to be working. The corners of the blades look like they are rubbing even after adjustment. I hope not, because apart from what I said, I like her. They have a few design flaws, but I hope I can work around them.

Pros
  • Wide Application --- It is a very useful and practical tool for various materials. Fishing line, fabric, thread. Also a good accessory for dressmaking, crafts, log, trimming, etc.
Cons
  • Large and bulky
