Review on 🚢 AGSHOME ZIGBEE Motion Sensor - Enhanced compatibility with Echo Plus, Echo Studio, and Echo Show 2nd Generation by Mike Modesto

Sometimes needs a break and may need to restart Echo

I have a motion sensor at the top of the stairs to the basement to turn on the light for me. Yes, there is a switch I could use, but the wiring is such that only one bulb is lit, the rest are turned on independently of the bulb. Instead of re-wiring the basement, I replaced the lights with smart bulbs, so now the lights are on everywhere. The only issue I had (besides the initial setup below) is that the sensor sometimes becomes unresponsive. I've found that if he sees too much movement in a short period of time, he needs to rest before going back to work. Rarely a problem, but every now and then I have to ask Alexa to turn on the light in the basement. Speaking of Alex, she didn't want to connect to the motion sensor or even claimed she couldn't see it. After several failed attempts and attempting to add the sensor manually, I was almost ready to return the sensor and try another. Thinking about the possible reasons, I decided to do what the IT department always recommends, I unplugged the Echo from the network and plugged it back in. After booting, I put the sensor into discovery mode (press the reset button for about 5 seconds until the red starts flashing), asked her to "discover new devices", and she finally saw it.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Mostly fine, but...
