I was afraid to replace my bathroom fan because I figured I'd have to go to the attic, rip out the old one, install a new one, etc. Wrong! They know you need to replace the fan, so they super chop it up with these things. This is a ten minute install. In theory. It turns out that Nutone has undergone quite a few changes over the years. They matched my two bathroom fans almost perfectly. The only problem was that the rectangular holes didn't line up exactly with the sockets. Interestingly, each turned it off differently, as if they rearranged the outlets multiple times. Luckily I was able to get both to work by bending one with pliers and the other with a hacksaw (and a drill because they also moved the screw hole). Not too complicated and yet a million times easier than installing a new fan!
