Husband did not fit. I installed one for myself on the passenger side of our 2015 Ford Edge. I didn't have to use a strip. I'm small and could easily move the power seat back and forth. My husband is 6ft 2in and 245lbs. With Edge, it rested on his leg. I installed a second passenger side seat in our 2007 Chrysler. minivan. I had to use both slats or it would be too narrow for the space between my seat and the console. Its space is enough to complement the glove compartments and other "cubes" in our cars. I am very happy with them and will buy them They are good quality and the price was good.
