I originally had a 40ft HDMI cable from my computer to my TV but couldn't get HDR to work. The signal just wasn't strong enough, and other non-powered adapters didn't work with the two 13ft HDMI cables I bought separately to replace the 40ft cable. There was a power source around about where the two 13-foot cables connect, so I plugged it in and - bam! - The problem is solved. Have had it for a while with no problems. Maybe 6 months or more.
