My father and three of my brothers were radio amateurs. Now they have all gone to heaven. I have never been interested in amateur radio as my job required a lot of working hours and a lot of traveling around the US and the world. Lately I've developed an interest in getting a license and started reading the requirements for the radio license exam. I studied electrical engineering and computer science at school and took the preliminary test 3 times and passed it without much learning. I still haven't taken the test because I feel I should do it right and study the entire manual. Now I'm retired and have time to study the book properly. The radios are of a high quality and come with all the accessories needed to set up both radios. Each radio can use 128 channels and can be programmed independently. The units come with an interface cable and are compatible with computers running Windows 10. You will need to download cable interface software and radio programming software. After configuring the cable interface drivers, you must determine the COM port number used by the cable. This is required because you must enter this COM port number into the factory setup program. In my case, the CHIRP software didn't work, but the production software did. It's been a tedious process since I've been using CHIRP, which was a waste of my time. I will not list the items that come with the radio as the site does an excellent job of doing that. I've started studying the ham radio book again and will make a trial appointment when I feel well prepared. This set of high-quality radios motivated me to get started and get my technician's license. If I enjoy being a radio amateur I will probably study to get a general license and maybe even an amateur supplementary license. This is a great product and a good buy. I rated it 5 stars!
