Review on 100-Piece Set Of EAI Education Orange Plastic Base Ten Units For Effective Learning by Josh Schweitzer

I recently purchased the 100-Piece Set of EAI Education Orange Plastic Base Ten Units for use in my classroom. While I appreciate the durability of the plastic and the bright orange color that makes them visually appealing to my students, I found that the units weren't as versatile as I had hoped. The set only includes units, rods, and flats, leaving out the crucial cube component that would allow for more complex mathematical operations. While the pieces are compatible with other base ten sets, having to purchase additional pieces defeats the purpose of buying a set in the first place. That being said, the pieces do serve their purpose in introducing the concept of place value and the value of each digit in a number. They are a great tool for younger students or those who are just beginning to learn about base ten systems. Overall, while I wouldn't recommend this set as a standalone resource for older or more advanced students, it is a decent learning tool for introducing basic number concepts.
