This product appears to be an exact replacement for what broke on my Hunter Bay ceiling fan. It took me ok. half an hour to replace it according to the instructions. I only used small wire strippers other than a few tools needed to remove the bottom of the skylight housing, but you can do this very gently with a knife or other pair of pliers. In terms of cost, this was an inexpensive repair that I was keen to try as replacing the entire unit would have required a lot more work and money. I did everything right and it seems to be working fine. PS Be sure to check the current model of the switch and if it is a three speed four wire unit make sure you select that version of this switch as there are many models.
