Update 10/22/20: My dog will be wearing this suit for 3 years now. It's a Halloween hit every year! I've been thinking more about size, and here's what I would recommend: I wouldn't focus on weight because, like humans, dogs carry their weight in different ways. Measure around the widest part of your chest and neck and use the larger of the two to compare to the size chart. If between sizes, go one size up. It's easier to do a makeover with too much fabric than with too little. -------------------------------- I give this suit a rather generous 4 stars because as you can see from my photo , this costume is incredibly cute! It seems to be made out of good material and I love the style and the shiny blue color on the bottom of the cape. However, finding the right size was difficult. especially for my deep chested dog. Although he only weighs 50 pounds and is on the small side for his breed, he has strong muscles, an 18 inch neck and a 27 inch chest. I bought the XL as it was supposed to fit a 27 inch chest and it was the largest size available. He didn't fit. He was still 3-4 inches short in girth. Velcro at back and it's stretchy material so I was able to put it on him. but the sections between the velcro strips gaped. The cloak covers this issue, but I don't like that it's so tight so I need to make some modifications. Also, while I love the cloak, as others have mentioned, it doesn't reach all the way to the neck, Velcro on the collar, how it should be. If you don't have a deep chested dog the sizing might work for you but I still think this suit is a bit small so you might want to go up a size and/or make sure you do the sewing basics and have the velcro for possible adjustments. , I CAN tell you that this "BatDog" costume is just amazing!
