There was an old version of the SS 700 that died after 6 years. Although this water tank is a bit smaller, it brews coffee as soon as you turn it on, so you don't have to wait to heat it up. Some K-Cups will explode if you just drop them and close them. The trick is to set the bottom first and then close it. It's a habit for me to do everything now, but it's ok as if you make it every bowl spills in it. Some of the K-Cups are made of thicker plastic so you don't have to punch a hole if you're just closing the lid, but quick adjustments are fine. I've been using it for a long time and I'm very satisfied. Many have complained that this creates a mess in some cups, so just put the cup down and don't worry. They have friends that use coregs every year and they last a very long time so thanks to cuisinart for making the best product.
