There was an old version of the SS 700 that died after 6 years. Although this water tank is a bit smaller, it brews coffee as soon as you turn it on, so you don't have to wait to heat it up. First Impression: Smaller, lighter and apparently less water capacity than the SS700 it replaced. Gone were the blue LEDs in the water tank, which was a shame as it was a good indicator that the unit was on and the blue light at night was a subtle light that was easy on the eye. I did a lot of research before buying this coffee maker to find the right features. Love the features but the coffee maker is a real disappointment. The day I received the first I set it up as instructed and when I ran through the first water it rumbled so loud my meter vibrated.
