Compared to previous model SS-700

I bought this updated model because the plastic on my SS-700 was fading and I thought it would look better and be a bit better at brewing. NO. This new design is terrible. He squirts coffee everywhere. Here are some photos of it turning into coffee on the back of the machine and on the kitchen counter after ONLY ONE USE. I couldn't imagine the mess after a week of brewing. That means constant cleaning. Also, the used K-Cup dripped out of the pinhole when I took it out to throw away. The previous SS-700 model used K-Cups, which didn't drip, probably because they make a smaller pinhole. A 10 ounce drink tastes a little watery from SS-10. The lid mechanism in this new design feels a little fiddly, as you first lift a spring-loaded lever, which then raises the lid. The K-Cup stays upright on this model. The previous SS-700 model has a safe loading mechanism that moves the holder so that the K-Cup is tilted towards you. I like the old mechanism much more than this cheap one. I like the previous SS-700's blue LED that illuminates the remaining water. For some reason the light has been removed in this updated model. Even the carbon filter holder has the worst design on this new model. The plastic cage holds the filter slightly closer to the water inlet while the previous SS-700 had the filter positioned closer to the water inlet. This model also has a slightly smaller water tank and looks cheaper overall. There are no LCD upgrades or software options. My guess is that this new SS-10 is the result of financial engineering by Cuisinart's managers to cut costs wherever possible. This is a missed opportunity that will hurt Cuisinart. I'm returning this junk and plugging in my wonderful classic SS-700.
