The product is great as is but we missed in the description where it was sticky on both sides. We were planning to use it for a different purpose and wanted to make a frequently used door fingerprint-free. It wasn't until we got it that we realized it was sticky on both sides. In hindsight, it makes sense not only to protect the surface that the cat will scratch, but also to make it sticky to annoy the cat.
