Most likely they are WS2812B LEDs. They work perfectly and work with other LED strings I've bought. However, these strips are a bit more difficult to work with than other LED strips I've bought in the past. The copper solder pads in particular are a lot smaller than some of the other strips I've worked with. This makes soldering wires to pads difficult and also limits the size of wire you can use. These strips also lack reverse copper pads, making it difficult to directly solder the strips end-to-end. If there weren't any other options and my only concern was price, I'd buy it again, but the time I've spent playing around with it could easily justify the higher price of other strips. The two attached images show the difference in pad size (this product is on the left in both images) compared to a different version of the product I purchased.
