I just got my meter and noticed things that might confuse people . The meter is fairly sensitive and has a wide range of distances, so you must be careful to isolate the subject from the environment (like your hand) that can skew the readings. Things like metal pins will cause high readings, or testing the item on a surface that itself has high readings. All of these things can result in different readings depending on the distance from the meter. That doesn't mean the counter doesn't work, it just takes the environment into account. Once I knew what to look for, I found it worked really well.
