In short my 9 year old son is too strong with his iPad 10.2 7th gen and he bent it. I find that from this model onwards they are not as strong/durable as its previous models (ipad 2, ipad air 1). There used to be kid-style rubber cases with a pen tray, which I didn't think offered much protection. I once replaced his iPad with Apple Care and then he refused the replacement! Not that heavy this time, so I basically bent it back into shape. Yes, of course, picking up the iPad was on the table, but I also started looking for a much tougher case that wouldn't allow for that. I almost bought an otter which was ridiculously expensive but I didn't like the features of the stand and didn't think it would suit my 9 year old. When I found this case, it seemed to fit all the criteria. It has a hard plastic part that should prevent the iPad from bending in most cases. And it has a built-in rotating stand so it can be used in any orientation without falling off. The price is right. So far so good and the iPad hasn't wobbled again.
