Yes we have a kitten that we will be bringing onto our boat. I don't want cat litter everywhere. It really works catching the junk with her power and what she throws easily. As long as she hasn't peed on her box, she'll pick up and contain that mess as well. The best part is that it is easy to clean. Just open the packaging and shake it out. Once it falls into the wide mesh structure, it won't pop out and stick to her legs. The mesh is a dense foam rubber or hard rubber. The cat feels uncomfortable walking. At home I have a smaller toilet mat that has a dense, carpet-like texture. It also works, but cannot be deleted. This two-layer bag design is much easier to clean or shake out with a vacuum nozzle. My other rug catches dirt that is still in the tightly rolled net. This large size is perfect for scavenging and digging through the clutter, as long as it doesn't dig too hard to send it past the mat. It folds in half so it can be stored away or taken outside. While not very pretty, it effectively catches and holds dirt. I recommend this type of garbage mat design.
