Unlike the cheaper plastic coated cables I've tried, this cable has a tough, reinforced outer coating. This makes the cable stiffer than others, but less likely to bend too much and break the internal wiring. I bought this cable to use with a standalone USB-C audio DAC. Again, DAC adapters were made with a cheap plastic housing, which meant the cable section would bend too much and break the internal wiring, resulting in an audio channel going dead or intermittently. Another benefit of this cable's stiffer outer jacket is that it acts as a shield, resulting in less interference between neighboring charging adapters and the audio signal in this cable. If this cable ever fails I would just have to replace the cable instead of buying a new DAC or adapter which in this case saves me money.
