My husband and I are millionaires. We travel a lot. If you think that the maid cleans and disinfects the room thoroughly after each guest, you are wrong! As soon as we get on the plane we delete everything (just go to twitter and see all the #grosspeople). As soon as we arrive at our destination and get into the rental car, we wipe down everything that someone's hands have touched (wait until you see what color the wipes turn!). and finally upon arrival at the hotel. we wipe down the REMOTE CONTROL, light switches, toilet seats (bring nitrile gloves), tables etc. FINALLY. Put up a "do not disturb" sign. Don't let the maids come back. During your stay, take towels from the maids and take out the trash yourself. Often we take a towel and make it hot and soapy to wash first before using towels in particularly messy rooms. We are crazy. NO. Just think of all the bums that sat on the toilet at the hotel :/)
