This is a 1/2 NPT double male stainless steel valve, with a ball valve internal shut-off. Noting most JG quick connect valves for 3/8 or 1/4 are all pure plastic, I needed one that could be used a lot more often and didn't start leaking after a few months of use. This one fits the bill. When combined with a1/2 NPT to 3/8 JG quick connect adapter (like this one - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YGR3NJS ) this one easily goes in-line with your standard water feed and provides a super-secure and durable shut-off point that won't start leaking after a few dozen flips (the pure plastic ones are not designed for repetitive use.)
