Review on πŸ”§ Aluminium Woodworking Carpenter Clamping Tools: Optimal Power & Hand Equipment for Industrial Use by Antonio Taveras

Concept is good, execution should be better

Wanted to like it, but had to return it. Contrary to some reviewers, I received all 4 sets very securely packaged in two boxes with two sets of squares, clips and hardware. The squares themselves were nicely done, with all edges relaxed. Three of the four were square compared to my 1281 square woodpecker, with all four sides of those three being perfectly flat. The fourth was non-square by almost 1/16 inch in length, which is noticeable at longer lengths, such as 1/4". B. on the side of a box, would turn out to be a significant error. In contrast, the clips weren't as well finished and the edges weren't smoothed out like the squares. Under clamping pressure, these edges can easily cut into the workpiece. The knobs screwed onto the L-bolts easily, but there was quite a bit of play in the threads, so I was concerned that these clamps would not be tightened securely. The knobs were also quite small which also made them difficult to tighten properly. For $100, the build quality was sub par and the cheapest components (grips) were poorly matched. As I said, I wanted to like them and see the potential, but at this price point the quality is lacking.

Pros
  • Hands-free device
Cons
  • Very expensive
