Review on Bushnell Powerview Compact Folding Binocular by Beth Wilson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Okay, about what I expect in the price range.

This review is about the most affordable Powerview 8x21 compact folding binoculars in the range. I bought this for one of my children as I tend to avoid "toy" replicas of real instruments and would rather give them something really useful that they can use for more years. Firstly, as you would expect from something at this price point, the quality control and build design don't seem to be the best. It had an internal crack or possibly a foreign object. The focus knob has a kind of vaguely inconsistent movement. The included pouch may break, but it's not very convenient for plugging and unplugging. Otherwise the image quality was ok and I was really surprised how much 8x really is. I ordered a slightly higher magnification version with a larger lens for my wife's bird watching. I am expecting a replacement and will increase the rating assuming the replacement will be more successful.

Pros
  • Roof prism binoculars with 8x magnification and 21 mm lens diameter
Cons
  • I say nothing
