I just got my 38mm ID filter and it looks useless as it is. The metal cap at the top of the filter is not in contact with the filter material. One quadrant of the lids has a big bunch of something like jbweld, that quadrant is sealed! However, the rest of the cap is not sealed or glued to the rest of the filter. A LARGE amount of light easily enters where the filter and cap meet. This allows large particles to go straight into the air intake and DESTROY the engine if left uncorrected. This, combined with the fact that the packaging was nothing more than a flimsy manila envelope with a thin layer of bubble wrap, leaves me with no choice but to STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this filter.
