Review on 🐈 Van Ness Corner Enclosed Cat Pan, Silver, Large (CP9): The Perfect Solution for a Clean and Stylish Litter Box by Megan White

Revainrating 3 out of 5

1 out of 3 (my cats) love this box

It's been around three months It's been a while since I bought this tablet - I wanted to wait a bit for it to work before commenting on whether it's good or bad - and I have to say the results for this product have been mixed. As a litter box, it works just like any other box. But there are a few problematic points: 1. The bin box is quite thin overall. Durability can be an issue here, especially if it's regularly lifted and moved.2. It's a deep box - eight inches deep, about three inches taller than my standard large crate toilet. This results in higher sides, making it harder for two of my three cats to get into the box (one of them basically gave up and is going back to her regular cat in the other room). But my third, larger cat - the one this box was bought for - seems to like it, so mission accomplished. The deeper box also means additional junk is needed to fill it up, which again is a good thing for me. I can last a little longer between refills of clumpy bedding that I remove daily. But we have to get back to the flimsy issue: the more dirt, the more weight, which means the higher the chance of the handle breaking or the body cracking.4. This box is almost square - about 20 x 16 x 17 x 8 deep compared to 13 x 17 x 5 for my other rectangular box. This allows it to be conveniently placed in a corner of a room (like the bathroom) - it fits nicely against the wall. My half Maine Coon cat seems to be able to pack her body in without her head sticking out of the box - a problem with traditional, smaller, rectangular boxes. There is a removable plastic door that keeps the smell of the filler in between replacements. Unfortunately the cat needs to know how to lift the door to get into the box and my cats don't care. This would work better with a swing door that swings freely in both directions, like a pet door on a back door or in a garage. In the end I had to remove this thing and give the cat free access, as well as opening the exit for all smells. It might work if you start using the cat when it's still a kitten, assuming they can actually get inside the device. The charcoal trash filter on the top of the box is a standard 4x6 size (unlike all those custom sized products for some other boxes) which means they're easy to find in a store or online when it's time for one is a replacement. 7. Unless the dirt adheres very well to the inside of the shell, cleaning at this point is an easy task. Over time the smooth surface will wear away and I will have to scrape the dried clay off the pages. This should be the case after about two years (with daily cleaning). The time will show. Overall I give this product 3/5. It's worth the money - I paid about $25 for mine and it looks like the price has come down a bit lately - and it's certainly worth it considering how difficult it is, a very large one tray available on the market. how large. But it's not the best my pets have used in the last 30 years.
