Solid, works as intended.

Strong gate. I use it in the 30 inch door between the kitchen and dining/living room to keep my 18 month old out of the kitchen and away from the dog when he's annoying. The gate doesn't "flex" as some reviewers have pointed out that there was actually a piece of paper that said it wasn't folded in the box. When adjustments are made in the upright position, a lot of pressure is put on the gate jamb, like a spring being compressed. Assembly is easy, but adjustment is somewhat important for proper operation. It should be well aligned and the gap in the latch should be correct. The gates swing open. both sides, stay open when fully open and close by themselves when less or with a slight pressure. the baby's efforts to understand. two extensions for my small doorway. The gate will keep your child safe, but it may require more than a few adjustments to make it work properly. If you don't do this, you may find that the latch does not engage. Any handyman of modest skill will understand this, but some of the reviews and the photos that accompany some of the reviews show that there are clumsy folk for whom this thing will be a dodgy thing. Oh, and he'll hold his own against a big dog or kid that leans on or against him.
