I use this cable to backup my computer to a WD My Passport external hard drive and I like it much better than the standard cable that came with the drive. While I am very happy that the drive COMES with a cable to begin with, I am more than satisfied with this cable because it is much more durable, strong, thick, long, aluminum body, braided and last but not least covered with what they claim it is 24k gold for better conductivity. I love this cable because I wanted something better and more durable that would last (and from the looks of it, I think it will). Perfect for me because my computer is practically on the floor and the cable has to run to the tabletop to use the drive. Normally the drive would have to sit entirely on top of the PC almost out of sight, now I have the ability to move it pretty much anywhere I have desk space and still have extra room for the cable. The cable is stiff and braided due to its thickness (4.8mm) but that doesn't bother me as it means it will resist twisting or shorting through kinks in the future. GOLD! Who doesn't want gold? It doesn't get any better than that. Finally, the transfer speed is faster than a standard cable, but as you may know, this depends on the computer, so yours may be different. Since Cable Creation has satisfied me in all categories with this cable, if I do another search I will look at their cable/product line first. I highly recommend this product.
