Review on 🐴 Halter Grazing Muzzle by Micah Manus

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not strong enough for an aggressive pony.

Inexpensive nylon head halter. We bought this for our 1 year old Welsh Cob Filly/Gypsy Wagon. I love the fact that we were able to customize it for her. Pros: The sides of the headrest and neck are adjustable. It is smaller than her head and would have taken up to 2 years and possibly up to 3 years throughout her growth. The basket is just the right size for the snout of the Welsh Cob. Cons: The thread that connects the headstand to the basket is cotton. Our filly removed the basket very aggressively, ripping all the seams on one side and loosening the seams on the other side. I see the value of this setup and have the ability to correct imperfections with waxed leather thread and a sewing awl. I recommend the muzzle because it has all the adjustable ranges, but be warned that it won't last long if you have a determined animal that wants to take it off. We bought a different muzzle for our elderly mare and she wore it until we had to euthanize her due to complications from Cushing's disease. This one was replaced because it had a large hole in the bottom of its muzzle. The problem with this muzzle was that it couldn't be adjusted so we had to tie it to her bridle to keep it on her.

Pros
  • Robust construction.
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...
