Very happy with this

Very happy with this. I love the velcro closure at the top. Just wanted to order a lighter color so it stands out a bit more when out in the pasture. You have to keep an eye on her, but she only escaped once. It's so nice to let her go for a while so she can actually move more.

Durable pasture muzzle

This muzzle is suitable for our mini donkey, which is very bad at muzzles. It can wear everything out in 1-3 months. This brand is the second longest of the brands we tested and fits well and is our replacement muzzle. Our donkey wears a grazing muzzle most of the time and we had no scrapes or problems.

Good choice, but short-lived

I have this in "ponies" for my mini Mediterranean donkeys. It's snug fitting, not too big in the basket, and they only made it on the first day before I adjusted the straps better. But my girls wear their willow muzzles hard, pressing them to the ground in search of food, and the rubber wears out within a month.

  • good thing

  • almost everything is ok

It could be better. for Pack Equipment

It was solid and held up well, but I don't like the fit. The strap that goes under the jaw is too low and my horse takes it off every time. It almost cost her her life. She collapsed while grazing and became very ill. I had to attach a pasture halter to a regular halter with a higher strap so she couldn't take it off. You have to design them differently. Dissatisfied.

Saved my pony's life!

Literally saved my pony's life. She only got laminitis on grass/hay and luckily was able to recover. This muzzle prevented overeating and allowed her to lose weight, preventing another attack. This allows her to be kicked out with other horses and not isolated. We love it so much that when she tore it up in a tree one day (although it's well built) I shipped another one via express. Now I have a supplement on hand. Worth every penny!

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Runs small: Pack Equipment

I bought a pony size for my 12 hand pony otherwise worn by a pony. I was surprised how much I had to adapt to her since her head is not that big. It just fit her everywhere except the muzzle part itself was a bit small. I thought I'd try it, but after about a week I noticed it was rubbing her nose. I think that part of the snout is too small for her. So if you want to put this on a pony, I would definitely go bigger. I wanted something cheap and it worked, but now I have to buy the plunger and…

Not strong enough for an aggressive pony.

Inexpensive nylon head halter. We bought this for our 1 year old Welsh Cob Filly/Gypsy Wagon. I love the fact that we were able to customize it for her. Pros: The sides of the headrest and neck are adjustable. It is smaller than her head and would have taken up to 2 years and possibly up to 3 years throughout her growth. The basket is just the right size for the snout of the Welsh Cob. Cons: The thread that connects the headstand to the basket is cotton. Our filly removed the basket very…
