It's also easy to set up different levels of permissions (user roles) per hosting account. We are able to use our own domain names instead of using Amazon S3 as we can have more than 100 domains hosted within this single instance which has really helped us out when it comes time to do maintenance or upgrades etc. There aren't any downsides that I know about at present - however if you're looking into having your website(s) managed by an external service then make sure they offer good support from day1! Being able to manage all my client websites through 1 system means less work for myself and much quicker turnaround times so I'm happy.
