I wanted to upgrade the memory of my 2017 iMac 27" with two 8GB chips that came with the machine when I bought it. I recently got a 16GB A - Tech 16. (2x8GB) RAM I spent a lot of time trying to figure out which slots the two new chips put in the iMac.The first time I tried to install the two chips the iMac wouldn't restart.More It was spent some time figuring out that i had both chips removed and the iMac started up and worked fine after that i tried installing the chips and after about three tries i finally found a combination that worked and the iMac started up .It has been working fine ever since .Perhaps in previous attempts I didn't fully seat the chips in the slots.
