Review on 🍟 Maxi-Matic Elite Gourmet Compact Hot Air Fryer - Oil-Less Healthy Cooker with Timer & Temperature Controls, 700-Watts, Red - Includes Recipes by Ginny Gregory

After reading many reviews I decided to buy a fryer with the highest capacity (5.5 Qt) and largest basket at a reasonable price. I find $78.33 ($80.21 at base price - $1.88 instant coupon savings) to be a very reasonable price for this item with a 4.5 star rating. Although I intentionally bought a larger fryer, I was surprised at how big the box was when it arrived (2 days after San Diego). I immediately washed out the "drawer" and easy-to-remove "fry basket" (more on that below) and made my first attempt at air frying homemade lumpia that had been frozen (my brother's friends). After experimenting with temperature and time, we found that 1 layer of lumpia is best cooked at 375 degrees x 15 minutes. [The frozen homemade lumpia I used was 1 x 5 inches for the regular lumpia and 2-2.5 x 4-5 inches for the jalapeño filled lumpia filling. I could easily fit 8 regular lumpia + 4 jalapeño lumpia in one layer.] We set a separate timer @ 8 minutes so we can turn the lumpia about halfway through. I simply pulled out the tray that automatically stops the timer to turn on the Lumpia and then just put it back into the holder which automatically restarted the internal timer. (One improvement I suggest is that the manufacturer include a visible internal countdown timer so you know how many minutes the cooking time has elapsed and how much time is left until the end of the cooking. Currently you have to rely on a separate , leave external timer (If you want to turn the food halfway which is recommended.) The lumpia came out browned and crispy on the outside and hot and thoroughly cooked on the inside.The minimal amount of fat from the meat filling was caught in the drawer tray as intended.I did also bought an accessory set for 8 inch fryers (MySit Big Large XL Air Fryer Accessories 8", Set of 9, for Power Airfryer XL Gowise Phillips Cozyna, Fit All 5.3QT - 5.8QT - AirFryer_8in for $28.82) and I'm glad I did. We were able to make homemade rellenos chili from scratch which we cooked in an 8" round cake keg and they came out GREAT. Since they were fresh (not frozen), cook we ran them again at 360 degrees x 10 minutes and flipped them halfway and they came out perfect. In fact, my husband swears these are the best chili rellenos he has ever tasted. We look forward to preparing many different dishes in our new air fryer. The included cookbook is good, but you can easily find plenty of air fryer recipes online. While minimal, I carefully read the negative (1 and 2 star) reviews. Although this air fryer is covered by a 1-year warranty, just in case I also purchased SquareTrade's 4-year small appliance protection plan for $6.05, which considering the total cost of this large air fryer is less than $90 amount, seems surprisingly reasonable. ) were easy to clean. Wash them with the soft side of a dish sponge to keep the Teflon coating from peeling off. The initial light order (probably the process coating on the teflon box and basket) was not refused and was discontinued when we finished preheating the fryer (360 degrees x 3 minutes). easy to use, it has enough cooking space for the whole family, it is very easy to use and cooks crispy, tasty, well-prepared meals without the mess, inconvenience and environmental risks (waste oil disposal) frying. Because it's essentially a small, closed convection oven, we plan to use it for reheating food, cooking other frozen foods (not frying), and other dishes, making it even more affordable. (I can't wait to bake a cake with the extra 8" cake barrel!) The only downsides I can think of right now are the lack of a countdown timer (as detailed above) and the footprint. our counter. However, I have a feeling we'll be using it often, so I wouldn't want to put it away (even if I had space to keep it, which I don't). I highly recommend this product and also recommend buying the accessory kit and protection plan with it.
