Excellent mechanism (so far). I have a 1200w 48v array and 24v battery being charged by a Morningstar 30A controller. I run the inverter in battery priority mode and it works exactly as described. At around 23.3 V it automatically switches to alternating current. I disabled the charging function so the array charges the battery and when the bank voltage reaches about 26.5 it automatically switches back to battery power. That's exactly what I wanted. I run a 2.5 amp pond pump that runs 24/7 and add additional lighting circuits. My battery capacity will probably be increased to match the capacity of the inverter. If I had to dig up something about that, the standby power consumption is a little high if you're using it for an intermittent application, but I'm not like that, so no big deal for me. In fact, it consumes less than advertised in standby mode. about 25-30 watts according to my meter. Before purchasing I contacted AIMS support with a technical issue and their response was quick and accurate.
