Review on 💦 Gates 42293 Water Pump: Reliable Performance and Exceptional Durability by Jason Porter

It was purchased for a 2004 Grand Cherokee 4.0L with air conditioning but no transcooler. The original Chrysler pump has approx Lasted 115,000 miles. Perfect fit and still not leaking after 1 day. Seems to be a quality product. I used a very thin film of blue RTV on both sides of the gasket. The bottom driver side fan cover screw (10mm) is absolute PITA.It's located opposite the frame, behind the metal AC lines, behind the steering box and above the lower radiator hose.No problem if you want to remove the entire heatsink with the cover attached, but it comes with its own PITA kit, so most people just remove the fan and shroud and leave the heatsink in. Route them from the bottom with a swivel and d a 1/4" extension and disconnect the metal AC leads from the t plastic clips on the sheath, allowing them to bend slightly. You can do it, but it's no fun.
