Fantastic helmet but be careful with the sizing

Two things that might help: Firstly I fall right between sizes based on my own measurements. The Sena website recommends taking a medium size if you're between sizes. I think that's bad advice. My medium one only fits when I've turned the adjustment knob all the way to the extreme position, and even then I could see I wanted it a few millimeters bigger. So when in doubt, take a large size. You can use the watch face to make it smaller. Another question I had was how is the quality of the helmet itself? Is it like those Chinese $25 stamps? In a word, NO. The helmet itself, not to mention the electronics, is great. I have several Chinese branded helmets and a few Bontrager helmets and this one is better made, more comfortable and has better straps than any other helmet I've had. It doesn't have the minor issues that cheaper helmets have, such as: B. twisted straps, loose pads, etc. This helmet is a keeper; When the electronics aren't for me, I still wear them like a helmet. It's definitely high quality. It's about 100 grams heavier than my other helmets. Fits perfectly on the head, not heavy and very comfortable. I saved that 100 grams by replacing the seatpost with carbon, which wasn't too expensive. As already mentioned, there is no such thing as sound quality for music. Sounds like one of those old transistor radios. So the voice is quite clear, but you won't be able to immerse yourself in audiophile bliss. And that might be okay. I hope you focus on the road and not the details of the music. I intend to listen to podcasts and lectures and for this application it will be great to ease the pain of those 4 and 5 hour journeys. Music is fine too, if you moderate your expectations. If it's music you're familiar with, your mind can fill in the missing details. Finally electronics. My helmet says on the inside that it was made 4/2019. It had to update the firmware before it could connect to my iPhone. The update is easy to install, but you will need to install the app on your Windows PC. I didn't see the app for OSX or Linux when I was on the Sena website. (Edit: Helpful comment below says there is now a version available for OSX.) After updating the firmware, be sure to install the app for your phone. It's a lot easier to fiddle with the settings via the app than the cryptic button presses in the manual. However, if you wish, you can opt out of the application. The helmet does not need to be connected to the phone. In general I am very satisfied. I don't think I'll look like the real Fred in it, but if I do, so what? I don't have to worry about missing important calls and can learn Italian while driving. Great offer.
