I have a 14 year old black convertible Beetle with a fabric top. Even though I kept it under one roof for most of my life, it looked a little tired and started to leak (it actually soaked up the rain like a sponge). I watched a video about this product and decided to buy it. I bought two 500ml bottles which covered the lid well and left some to touch up. If your top is larger than the bug, you'll need to buy another bottle to cover it. I had to use gloves because it looks and feels like ink. However, when I washed afterwards, it was washed off with soap and water. All of my seams and one spot that I had to secure with thread are dyed well and look like a new top. I'm still in the process of sealing it with a waterproofing agent. I'll post a photo when I'm completely done.
