Review on πŸ–€ Large Black Terramar Thermasilk Filament by Gavin Ghram

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Discreet Lightweight Tank Top

I'm giving 4 stars, but only because I bought it "in the off-season" when the price was *much* lower than it has been since mid-fall. (This might also explain the discrepancies between some of the reviews, since most reviewers don't mention how much they paid for it.) Mine was around $10 in mid-September. It's easily worth the price. I bought one to try and left the item in the "Saved for Later" section of the Revain cart to buy more if I liked it, but by the time I thought of ordering more the price had gone up A LOT. (So did the inner gloves I bought and the panties, which I sadly didn't buy the first time.) As always, silk is *much* warmer than cotton and warmer than most wool fabrics, but it is measured* by weight*. This t-shirt is warmer than the current standard thin cotton t-shirt, but no warmer than a heavier cotton t-shirt. But IS is much thinner and more comfortable. I especially like wearing it under a lighter sweater where it offers just enough protection (both for my skin and the sweater) and a bit of extra warmth with no visible bulk. (I do wish they made them V-neck though, as the collar is a bit high and tends to show around the neck of many of my sweaters.) The cuffs at the wrists are a little loose, but it's nice. Typical of pure silk, and I've always found this to be a common problem with long sleeve silk undershirts, the fiber just isn't as resilient as cotton and some wools. A bit of Lycra on the cuffs would be nice, but seriously, I wouldn't expect that kind of touch from anything other than a very expensive shirt - WIntersilks doesn't have that either. But at full price ($20) I will not buy again. (However, if/once prices drop again next spring I'll stock up.) I don't have any newer vintage winter silks, so I don't know how they make *them* these days - a few pieces. I am all over 20 years old. (Living in New York City, where it very rarely gets "severely" cold, I just don't really need them, although I've worn them regularly, if not often, every winter at all times.) To be honest, not all of my winter silks have lasted that long, but some have survived and I don't really care for them. They are washed warm/coloured and tumble dried. On the other hand, I very much doubt this shirt will last 5 years, let alone 20. And since I can't mess with things like laundry bags, I probably won't risk washing them. normal wash along with my other clothes. The stuff isn't terrible. Not that the yarn feels much thinner than other silk underwear, but the knit is definitely looser.
