They're small but metal-free and cut pretty much anything you'd normally do with scissors. They are small (about 6 inches long) but work wonders. The tips are designed to be secure when slicing, and even the touch of a finger on the blade will not cut you. So they are the perfect safety scissors or good for younger kids who need them for school. I've used them to open clamshells, boxes, cardboard, cereal bags, chips, granola bars, etc. Similar to the Zoli Snip ceramic scissors but I prefer the all white look. I see them useful for grandparents and the elderly who don't want to use sharp metal scissors. Of course, they're more expensive than Westcott or Scotch shears, but since they're metal-free (which essentially prevents cuts) and are just plain fun, I think they're worth it. I can't remember the last time I got excited to pull out the scissors. I think, there are laboratories and special rooms like kitchens that want to use this because of the ceramic material.
