A few years ago I developed a sensitivity to SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate). I've tried multiple brands and methods but ended up with this product for three reasons: (1) It's easy to use and gets the job done. - Just add it to your laundry and it washes great. As other reviewers have said, you can FEEL how CLEAN your fabrics are when you take them out of the washer. (I was skeptical, but it was true!) (2) I can't stand it when this strange smell comes from my exercise equipment. I've tried everything: a pre-wash vinegar bath, a FunkRock pre-wash, etc. With SportSuds, I take one of two approaches: For really gross gear that's left in a gym bag overnight, I add some vinegar before washing. and let the SportSuds do the rest during the normal wash cycle. If my gear doesn't look super trendy after washing, I just use SportSuds and line dry my gear. No residual smells. (3) My SLS symptoms went away after using SportsSuds and never came back. Individual results may vary, but that was the case for me. For reference, I do about 8 loads of laundry per month for a family of two, and I buy these every six to eight months. I don't use a full scoop unless I'm making a full load. I use a powerful top load washing machine and never use liquid fabric conditioner or fabric softener sheets in the dryer. I hang my sports gear out to dry.
