It is really cute but the fish swimming area is too small for beta or goldfish. Maybe something like Artemia (sea monkeys!), which are very small. We needed this because we had aggressive fish that bully others and we needed to separate them from the rest. He was afraid of the light in this aquarium (as it should be 😉) but if you turn off the light, he also turns off the filter. There is also no aquarium lid, so if you have a curious cat or jumping fish, don't get this aquarium! Also, you can't replace the filters because the company doesn't have any replacement filters, at least as of the time of writing this review. The aquarium is cute but that's all for now unless you need it temporarily, maybe as a place to keep fish while you clean out your large tank, or as I said for something small like Artemia. However, I would wait until they can buy replacement filters as a permanent tank.
