They will not fit 1" bars, I have measured my bars with an accurate digital caliper and they are exactly 1" tall. The problem is that the center piece, which is supposed to hold the whole mechanism in place, is too small, so the screw that goes through the back to provide the turning function doesn't fit, effectively rendering it useless. In addition, the build quality is very poor. . The material is like cheap metal and the powder coating is very thin and scratches off easily (in addition to scratching the safety bars during installation as they are designed without an inner sleeve to protect the bars). As other reviews have pointed out, the welds are sloppy and seem to break easily (although I can't confirm or deny this as I wasn't able to attach the pin to the guard bar from the start, so couldn't test the strength of the weld). All in all a terrible product and I would not recommend anyone to buy it. Spend the extra money and buy Kuryakyn bindings and small ADV footpegs. That's what I do
