Disappointing: Security and surveillance

I found that this product (and I suppose any product using the same technology) ended up not working. By "working" I mean reliably detecting moving objects that are in range and in focus without false alarms. I've watched cars drive past my sensors while they were less than 10 feet away and the device made no sound. Sometimes I could walk into the detection area and it wouldn't sound. That's the good part. The bad part is that my two of the three sensors I bought stopped working and started throwing false alarms every 15 minutes or less. I made sure to mount them facing the wall of the house to avoid moving vegetation etc. I confirmed all the false warnings by looking at the CCTV footage and there was absolutely nothing. Unfortunately I don't trust that enough. use him. I recently discovered that my receiver turns itself on. I turned it off every day before leaving by plugging it into an extension cord. I pushed the off button, saw the light go out, and heard the sound it made. However, it still had batteries in case of a power outage. Find out. For me this is a disappointment. I've spent a lot of time learning how to properly set up these supposedly tricky devices to achieve reliable detection, and spent a lot of money on things that just don't work. I wouldn't buy anything similar or work the same because I trust the Chamberlain brand and feel the product itself just isn't capable. I don't think the quality is bad, but for some reason they don't work reliably and without component failure.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons

Mount it one foot high pointed towards the tailpipes; it will work nearly perfectly!
