I bought size XL without measuring as I always take measurements and it ends up being too tight on the calves and thighs. I am a female, 5ft 3in, size 14 on Levi's, weight 183lbs. I wear a compression bandage at night when I relax on the couch, my knee feels better after wearing it. I'm waiting for an ultrasound of my leg right now to see if my varicose veins are causing pain deep in my knee. I thought I'd buy them and see if they help. If you have big hips, I recommend XL. They roll up so I'm not sure if they're worth carrying and walking around, they hurt when they roll down.
