Diamond makes good gear and this is no exception. This dummy cargo is well built. Unfortunately it was poorly designed. PL-259 threads stick on first use. I tried using the dummy load case to add a bit more torque as I was unscrewing the knurled grommet on the PL-259 connector by hand and the center conductor in the dummy load was sheared off and there is no easy way to undo it to repair. . The center conductor is a small piece of copper bar or solid wire, approximately 20 AWG. Despite the massive aluminum body, the tiny center conductor can only handle a few ounces of an inch of torque before breaking in two and destroying that dummy load. It now has an internal intermittent connection. I recommend looking for RFP 250-50 250W 50 Ohm 250N50 TC HF Resistors. I bought four for ten dollars with shipping. Mount one in a die cast aluminum case (Hammond etc) and solder it to a length of coax cable and you have a very cheap 250W dummy load. If you are careful with your dummy load, you can screw a powerful HF resistor onto scrap aluminum to get an almost free dummy load with very high power dissipation that can be easily repaired if necessary. Needless to say I will be making my own dummy cargo and this expensive but fragile product which is beyond repair and expired when I first used it will be sent to the bin. It was a significant waste of money, a major disappointment, and a major source of frustration.
