Kit installed on a 2003 Honda Odyssey that I use to tow a boat. Full fuel + rest gear increases the tow weight to over 2,800 pounds. This product has helped eliminate rear squats when towing. When I stow the boat trailer, the back of our van goes up a bit, but I've found that this actually helps save fuel on the highway (I carefully chart fuel consumption versus miles on each trip). I no longer scrape the factory Honda clutch when backing up steep driveways, and the van is more stable as I head into the southern Rockies. The ride is actually pretty good, if a bit stiffer. If I bought custom stiffer rear springs, they may not fit OEM valved shocks. The Monroe seems a good fit for the stock spring, which works in tandem with the spring coil around the shock. UPDATE: Shortly after doing this on my 2003, I installed another kit on our 2002 Honda Odyssey (we have two vans). Now it's 3 years on our local rough roads and has clocked up 40,000 miles on both vans with these helpful dampers. They excel in tough conditions and still cushion well. The auxiliary springs on these shocks are still doing their job. I bet the original Honda coil springs are probably on their last legs, but these Monroes hold the rear end on both vans.
